“Expect change. Analyze the landscape. Take the opportunities. Stop being the chess piece; become the player. It’s your move.” -Tony Robbins
Reflection:
Lately I’ve been thinking about how often life changes without asking for permission. Seasons shift. Plans change. Doors close. Unexpected opportunities appear. Challenges show up when we feel least prepared for them. Change is one of the few guarantees in life and fighting against that truth only keeps us stuck.
What matters most is how we choose to respond.
There comes a point where you have to stop living reactively and stop allowing fear, comfort, doubt or the weight of your past to dictate your next step. Too often we move through life like a piece on someone else’s chess board, letting circumstances make our decisions for us. But deep down, I believe we were created for more than that. We were meant to think, to discern, to act with purpose and to lead our lives with intention.
That requires honesty and finding your "why", it also requires stepping back and analyzing the landscape of your life looking at your habits, your mindset, your relationships, your discipline and the direction you're walking in. Are you moving toward growth or simply staying where it feels safe? Are you taking the opportunities placed in front of you or shrinking back because movement feels uncomfortable?
Growth has never come from comfort. Strength has never been built by standing still. The strongest versions of ourselves are forged in seasons where we choose faith over fear, discipline over impulse and action over hesitation.
To be honest with you guys that’s where I find myself now... in a season of a lot of movement and a season of building. A season of stepping fully into purpose. Next week marks the launch of the MindForge Podcast, it will be a space built to challenge thought, sharpen perspective and speak life into those who are ready to grow! This launch is a reminder to me that opportunities don’t arrive wrapped in certainty they arrive wrapped in courage, risk, and the willingness to move when the time comes.
Maybe this season is asking something greater of you too. Maybe it’s asking you to trust yourself more. Maybe it’s asking you to finally make the move you’ve been putting off.
Whatever it is recognize that you are not powerless in your story. You are not meant to be moved by every circumstance around you. You have a voice, a mind, a spirit and the ability to choose your next step.
Analyze the landscape.
Take the opportunity.
Move with purpose.
It’s your move.
3 Actionable steps:
1. Take inventory of your current landscape
Spend 10 quiet minutes journaling honestly about where you are in life right now mentally, physically, spiritually and professionally. Ask yourself; What is serving me? What is holding me back? Where have I been avoiding action? Clarity creates direction.
2. Make one bold move you’ve been postponing
Send the email. Start the project. Have the difficult conversation. Apply for the opportunity. Commit to the habit. Momentum is built through movement not overthinking. One decisive action can shift the trajectory of your life.
3. Create space to sharpen your mind
Set aside intentional time this week to feed your mind something meaningful a podcast, a chapter from a good book, prayer, meditation or reflection in silence. Your mind is your forge. What you repeatedly put into it shapes who you become.
Reflection Prompt:
Am I living like a piece being moved or a player making intentional moves?
