Top 5 Lessons From Chasing Big Goals in My 20s as a Lifter, Dreamer, and Entrepreneur

“Dreams don’t just ask what you want, they ask who you’re willing to become.”

Reflection:

There’s a side of chasing big goals that people don’t talk about enough. People love talking about ambition, success, discipline, winning but very few people talk about what it feels like in the middle when you’re building something that hasn’t fully taken shape yet. When you’re chasing a dream while still becoming the person capable of carrying it and that’s the season I’m in right now. As a lifter, dreamer and entrepreneur in my 20s, life has been teaching me some lessons. Some inspiring and some uncomfortable but above all it is all necessary.

Here are five that have been hitting me lately:

1. Nobody Is Coming to Save You

At some point, you realize the waiting has to stop. The right moment doesn’t magically arrive, you create the "moment" and confidence doesn’t appear before action it comes after doing the thing you are afraid of and sometimes the breakthrough starts with simply deciding to move.

2. You Can’t Carry Everyone’s Opinion

Not everyone will understand your growth, some people only feel comfortable with the version of you that stays the same. If you need everyone’s approval before moving forward, you’ll stay stuck for the rest of your life.

3. Stay a Student

Growth slows the moment you think you know enough about something. The people who keep evolving are usually the ones humble enough to keep learning even when they do know.  Big goals demand constant growth in every aspect of life.

4. If You Fear Rejection, You’ll Stay Small

Rejection isn’t failure, it’s part of building anything meaningful within your life. The biggest opportunities often live on the other side of uncomfortable asks and conversations.

5. The Life You Want Will Ask You to Let Go

This one might be the hardest because our society believes in consuming and with that comes this idea of  "adding" things, like that will help us grow when in reality it's "subtracting" (let go)

Growth isn’t just about adding new things it’s also about releasing old versions of yourself and sometimes becoming requires letting go.

3 Actionable Steps to take this week:

1. Identify Where You’re Waiting

Ask yourself: Where am I waiting instead of moving? Is it waiting for confidence, permission, clarity or the “perfect time”?

Pick one thing you’ve been delaying and take a small action on it this week.

2. Notice What’s Keeping You Small

Pay attention to where you’re shrinking. Are you holding back because of fear of rejection? Because of other people’s opinions? Because comfort feels safer?

Write down one belief, habit or pattern that’s keeping you stuck.

3. Choose One Thing to Release

Growth requires letting go so ask yourself: What version of me do I need to outgrow to reach my next level? Choose one thing to release this week maybe it's an excuse, a habit, a mindset or an old story.

Step into the forge. Listen, reflect and apply.

These five lessons go deeper than words on a page so in this week’s MindForge Podcast episode, I break down each one: the hard truths, the personal lessons and what chasing big goals in my 20s is really teaching me.
